PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing means which has such a high fixing performance and such a low heat capacity as to be applied for a high speed image forming apparatus by optimizing the constitution and the support position of a support member for supporting a pressure roller over which a belt is trained, thereby, enabling the diameter of the pressure roller to be smaller and the heat capacity of the pressure roller to be lower. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus has the fixing means for fixing a toner picture formed on a form by pressing and heating the same, wherein the fixing means has a belt with an elastic layer for pressing and heating the form and first and second pressing rollers which hold the belt and the form therebetween and press the belt and the form, the first pressing roller has no elastic layer on the outer periphery and the support point of a support member which is arranged inside the belt and supports the first pressing roller is arranged on the inner side than the width of the passing form.
