In the plasma display panel driving method, the image information has one or more frames each divided into one or more sub-fields used to display gray scales through combinations of the sub-fields. The sub-fields are each divided into one or more driving units T each having an address period, a sustain period and an erase period that are temporally separated. In the plasma display panel driving method, data for a corresponding sub-field is written during an address period in a first one of the driving units T constituting the sub-field.
