The invention relates to the food, pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries. The inventive method for processing marine brown algae consists in pre-processing algae, breaking and drying in a low-vacuum dehydrating device at a temperature of 65-75 DEG C to a residual moisture the dehydratable product ranging from 5 to 15 % in such a way that said product is embodied in the form of plates, in treating the powdered algae with an acid solution, washing with fresh water, treating with an alkali solution, heating, homogenising the thus obtained algae mass, neutralising said mass with an acid solution in such a way that a gel-like product is obtained, drying the finished gel-like product in the low-vacuum dehydrating device at a temperature of 65-75 DEG C to a residual moisture of 5-15 %, powdering the thus dehydrated product in such a way that it is possible to restore said product into a gel-like product by steeping during 3-7 minutes.
