The bearing heads (14, 15) for the rolls (17, 18) can be moved parallel to the roll length axis. A rotary device comprises a frame, two rolls which define a nip (22) and bearing heads at the ends of the rolls for rotatably mounting the rolls in the frame. At least one bearing head in each pair can be moved so that the roll supported by the pair can be replaced. The bearing heads can be moved in a direction parallel to the roll length axis.
