<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine operation controller capable of switching between normal operation and cylinder reduction operation of a multi-cylinder internal combustion engine for a vehicle stably in engine operation. <P>SOLUTION: When performing cylinder reduction operation for realizing non-operation of a part of cylinders of the multi-cylinder internal combustion engine for the vehicle selectively, steady operation not changing throttle opening, ignition time, and opening and closing timing of a variable timing valve is made until switching from normal operation to cylinder reduction operation or switching from cylinder reduction operation to normal operation is completed during the switching. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
