PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To elucidate crystal structure of thermostable aspartase.
SOLUTION: The crystal of thermostable aspartase is a homotetramer and has ≥20 ion bonds formed per molecule between subunits. The crystal preferably has ≥100 hydrogen bonds formed per molecule between subunits. In the crystal, the homotetramer more preferably comprises two crystallographically independent subunits (chain A and chain D) and two subunits (chain C and chain B) positioned symmetrically to them and r.m.s Cα deviation between the two the crystallographically independent subunits (chain A and chain D) is ≤1Å.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
