PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a map display device constituted in such a manner that highly reliable attribute information can be obtained by easily checking the identity of a natural feature on the earth for which the attribute information is required and the user's target natural feature on the earth. SOLUTION: When a distance information acquiring apparatus 12 is aiming at a target natural feature on the earth 3 being a characteristic object visible from a map display device 1, a natural feature checking means 24 added to he map display device 1 displays both of the video of a target natural feature on the earth 3 photographed with a natural feature photographing device 23 and displayed on a display device 22 and an aiming point mark 4 coinciding with an aiming point 5 of the distance information acquiring apparatus 12 on the display device 22. Therefore, by viewing the video of the target natural feature on the earth 3 and aiming point mark 4 displayed on the display device 22, the user is able to visually check whether the target natural feature on the earth 3 is aimed at by the user and whether the target natural feature on the earth 3 is an object for browsing in a simple manner.
