<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a screening method which can generally be used for all enzymes without being limited by the characteristics, such as sizes and properties, of the enzymes, enables the easy display of the products of enzyme-substrates reaction on the surfaces of phages, and enables the highly accurate screening. <P>SOLUTION: This transformant is characterized by infecting a protein-encoding phagemid and a helper phage into a host. The phage or phagemid phage is characterized by being produced from the transformant.
