Fixing clip (1) comprises an L-shaped section (2) with a rear wall (4) and a foot (3) for interacting with a floor covering, a counter bend (9) connected to the rear wall and forming a roof (10) over the foot, and a spring (11) extending from the roof for interacting with the groove of a skirting board. An independent claim is also included for a skirting board for a fixing clip. Preferred Features: The foot protrudes over the free end of the counter bend. The counter bend has a U-shaped section which forms the spring. A bracket (15) is formed in the L-shaped section and forms a stop for the skirting board. The bracket penetrates the U-shaped section.
