PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for dephosphorization-refining molten pig iron with stably high efficiency in operation. SOLUTION: In a method for refining the molten pig iron, which prevents top-blown oxygen from directly contacting with the molten pig iron by intercepting it with slag, when refining the molten pig iron by adding flux and top-blowing oxygen, the method for refining the molten pig iron includes adjusting one or both of an amount of top blowing oxygen and a height of a top blowing lance so that top-blown oxygen directly can contact with the molten pig iron in a predetermined period, just before the refining is finished.
