PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for industrially advantageously producing a high-purity adamantane in a high yield economically without causing environmental loading by purifying a crude adamantane obtained by isomerization reaction of a≥10C tricyclic saturated hydrocarbon compound. SOLUTION: The method for producing an adamantane comprises subjecting a≥10C tricyclic saturated hydrocarbon compound to isomerization reaction, concentrating and crystallizing the obtained reaction solution and carrying out solid-liquid separation, cleaning the obtained crude adamantane with a liquid organic compound and circulating a part or the whole of the cleaning liquid to an isomerization process and/or a concentration process.
