PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a support arm for a vehicle mirror with good stability and reduced vibrations capable of being used for both driver/passenger mirrors of right/left-hand drive vehicles. SOLUTION: The support arm for a vehicle mirror comprises an upper part support arm 1 having a fixed element 2 mounted to the vehicle, a lower part support arm 3 having a fixed element 4 mounted to the vehicle at the bottom part, and at least one mirror head equipped with a mirror plate. An integrally-formed base part 6 is formed to be integrated to the upper part/lower part support arms. The base part comprises a metal tube 5 whose upper end part or lower end part is firmly connected to the upper part/lower part support arms. The base part can be made as a base plate and comprises a removable positioning wedge 7 for changing the angle of at least one mirror plate and/or a mirror head supported by the base plate. The positioning wedge is mounted for providing the driver-side rear view mirror and removed for providing the passenger-side rear view mirror. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
