An inner bag (34) of an air bag (10) cooperates with a first panel portion (30) of the air bag (10) so as to define a duct (36) having an entrance (44) adapted to receive gas from a gas generator (18) through an opening (38) in the first panel portion (30). The terminus (46) of the duct (36) provides for discharging the gas to a distal portion (48) of the air bag, so as to provide for relatively early inflation thereof. The inner panel (34) may incorporate vents (76) to the interior of the air bag (10) so as to provide for tuning inflation kinematics. |
