The device has two control units (2, 2`) that are connected by an elastically deformable unit (4) stressing one unit towards the other. A single activation unit (5) is moved in translation in two directions (D1, D2) from a middle position. The control units are positioned at end positions under the action of the deformable unit, when the activation unit is positioned in its middle position. An independent claim is also included for a pneumatic press.
