PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic tire capable of suppressing eccentric wear in the initial period of wearing and assuring compatibly water draining and traction performances in the final period of wearing. SOLUTION: The pneumatic tire has a tread formed with main grooves 1 extending substantially in the tire circumferential direction R and transverse grooves 2 extending aslant relative to the tire width direction A and establishing the communication of the main grooves 1 with one another and is equipped with blocks 3 substantially in shapes of parallelograms, wherein the inclining angleα1 of a side wall 4a at the acute corner 3a of each block 3 is made greater than the inclining angleα2 of the side wall 4b at the obtuse corner 3b of the block 3, and the direction 1a in which the main grooves 1 extend on the tread surface and the direction 1b in which the main grooves 1 extend on the groove bottom are opposite to each other with respect to the tire circumferential direction R.
