PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure security against unauthorized access such as a service disabling attack in a storage device system on an IP network. SOLUTION: A table is prepared to associate identifiers of initiators with storage devices permitted to the initiators. At a discovery step, communication is permitted/denied accordingly.
