PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image viewing apparatus capable of viewing an image with presence. SOLUTION: The image displayed on a display apparatus 1R is reflected by a reflection mirror 2R, then, observed by an observer's right eye 14R through an eyepiece window 9R. The image displayed on a display apparatus 1L is reflected by a reflection mirror 2L, then, observed by an observer's left eye 14L through an eyepiece window 9L. Consequently, a virtual image 15R is observed by the right eye 14R, and a virtual image 15L is observed by the left eye 14L. The virtual image 15L is horizontally deviated from the virtual image 15R in terms of position, then, a convergence distance sensed from a convergence angleψbecomes longer than a focal distance, then, the image with presence can be viewed. For example, by setting a horizontal screen angleαof each display apparatus 1L and 1R to be≥30°and imparting a luminance difference and a chroma difference between the display apparatuses 1L and 1R, the presence is more increased.
