摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small device directly measuring the hardness of a fruit on a tree or a fruit on a table. SOLUTION: This hardness measuring device comprises: a measuring instrument provided with a vibration source for giving vibration to an object and a vibration sensor for detecting vibration of the object as an integrated unit; and an analyzing device for controlling the vibration source and computing the hardness of the object based on a vibration signal from the vibration sensor and weight information of the object. The measuring instrument comprises a pair of openable and closable arms energized in the closing direction. Preferably, the vibration source is arranged at the tip of one of the arms, and the vibration sensor is arranged at the tip of the other arm. An opening degree sensor for outputting an opening degree signal according to the opening degree is arranged at the opening and closing shaft of the measuring instrument. The analyzing device is preferably adapted so as to compute and output the weight information of the object based on the opening degree signal. Otherwise, the measuring instruments has three fulcrums for supporting the object, with the vibration source being arranged at one of the fulcrums, and vibration sensors being arranged at the two remaining fulcrums.
