<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing methanol from a biomass, by which the methanol can efficiently be produced from the biomass such as plants as a raw material. <P>SOLUTION: This method for producing the methanol from the biomass is characterized by once storing a gas containing hydrogen and carbon monoxide obtained by gasifying the biomass such as plants in a gas tank, pressurizing the stored gas through a pressurizing pump, and then introducing the pressurized gas into a methanol-synthesizing facility in which reactors each comprising a methanol-synthesizing portion filled with a catalyst and a cooling portion for cooling the methanol produced in the methanol-synthesizing portion to obtain the liquid methanol are bound in series at several states, whereby the methanol can be obtained from the gas in a high yield even by low pressure operations. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
