<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure for processing an excess part of an optical fiber in a drawer unit, which prevents the occurrence of excessive stress in the excess part of an optical fiber at the time of drawing and housing a drawer tray without using a cable guide and without extending the width of an optical fiber connection box. <P>SOLUTION: On the side of a drawer unit 1 having a drawer tray 4, an excess reel base 2 is installed that enables an excess part A of an optical fiber to be released longitudinally when the drawer tray 4 is closed. Specifically, the excess reel base is designed to have an excess-part housing section that is greater in length than in breadth, or designed to draw out the excess part A of the optical fiber from further front from the arm 7 in the front of the excess reel base 2.
