<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric golf cart giving less physical disorder to a user when the engine noise is stopped than a conventional engine-driven golf cart, and hardly lacking in the charge while preventing noise in a prescribed area as much as possible. <P>SOLUTION: The electric golf cart comprises a running motor driven by a battery as the power source and an engine-driven generator for charging the battery. The battery is charged by the operation of the generator when the voltage of the battery is lower than a prescribed voltage. The electric golf cart also has a control means for discriminating the running state and the battery voltage, and controlling the rotational frequency of the generator at a prescribed rotational frequency or lower if the cart is running and the battery voltage is a prescribed voltage or higher.
