<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for increasing the hydrogen concentration in a reformed gas and reducing the carbon monoxide concentration. <P>SOLUTION: In a method for reforming a hydrocarbon fuel, a gas containing the hydrocarbon fuel and hydrogen peroxide is fed to a catalyst to produce a hydrogen-rich gas. Here, the number of oxygen atoms contained in the gas corresponds to 25-75% of that required for complete oxidation of the hydrocarbon fuel, and ≤50% of the oxygen atoms contained in the gas exist as oxygen molecules (O<SB>2</SB>). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
