<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a retractable writing utensil which can sufficiently absorb an impact at the withdrawal of a writing utensil refill and obtaining constant impact absorbing performance regardless of variation in production or a change in a use environment. <P>SOLUTION: An air damper mechanism 6 suppressing the rearward moving speed of the writing utensil refill 3 at the withdrawal of the pen point is provided within a barrel 2. The air damper mechanism 6 comprises a capacity variable air damper space 7 provided within the barrel 2 at the back of the refill 3 and an air hole 8 allowing air to flow between the inside and the outside of the air damper space 7. The air damper space 7 comprises a piston part 72 formed at a sliding member 5 and a cylinder part 71 formed within the barrel 2 with the piston part 72 closely sliding therein. As the refill 3 moves rearward, the capacity in the air damper space 7 decreases, allowing the pressure in the air damper space 7 to temporarily increase. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
