PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a controller of a variable displacement compressor capable of reducing impact when a member for transmitting power contacts mechanically during power transmission from a driving source by an electromagnetic clutch. SOLUTION: The compressor is driven by power obtained from the driving source via the electromagnetic clutch, and can control a refrigerant delivery capacity with an electromagnetic control valve. One control system is formed by interconnecting the electromagnetic clutch and the electromagnetic control valve in series through a lead wire through which control current I flows from an ECU, and the electromagnetic control valve sets the refrigerant delivery capacity of the compressor at about 0 with control current I≤Ia (Ic<I) from the ECU (S210 and S310). Then, the electromagnetic clutch cuts off the power transmission from the driving source to the compressor with control current I≤Ic from the ECU (S220 and S320) so that the electromagnetic clutch transmits the power in a state wherein the refrigerant delivery capacity is always about 0 (S130).
