PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To carry out the breeding of a transgenic plant having desired properties by evaluating the transgenic plant as early as possible. SOLUTION: The function of a transferred gene in a plant can be evaluated in the stage of adventitious root by culturing the adventitious root of a genetically modified gum tree based on the finding of the conditions to enable the efficient regeneration of the adventitious root from a callus obtained by transferring a target gene into a callus derived from the anther, unripe seed, cambium, etc., of the gum tree. The invention further relates to a transformed adventitious root of a gum tree produced by the transfer of a target gene into a tissue-culture product of a gum tree, the redifferentiation of the adventitious root from the tissue culture product and the culture of the produced adventitious root and a method for the evaluation of a plant transformed by a target gene including the confirmation of the expression of the target gene in the transformed adventitious root.
