<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical laminated body in which wide band properties are maintained and deterioration of a polarizer or changes in optical characteristics or the orientations of optical anisotropic layers are prevented even when the optical laminated body is used for a long period of time in such a form that the laminated body is mounted in a liquid crystal display by being stuck to the polarizer, and to provide a circular polarizing plate using the optical laminated body, and a display device having the circular polarizing plate. <P>SOLUTION: The optical laminated body is formed by laminating: an optical anisotropic layer A which is formed of liquid crystal molecules whose in-plane retardation value in 550-nm-wavelength is 260 to 290 nm; an orientation film B; an optical isotropic layer C which is formed of a thermoplastic norbornene resin and whose retardation value in its thickness direction is 30 nm or less and saturated water absorption is 0.03 wt.% or less; an orientation film D; and an optical anisotropic layer E which is formed of liquid crystal molecules whose in-plane retardation value in 550-nm-wavelength is 125 to 155 nm, in this order. The layers are laminated so that the orientation axis of the layer A has an angle of 75±3° to the lengthwise direction of the layer C and the orientation axis of the layer E has an angle of 15±3° to the lengthwise direction of the layer C. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
