PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transmission apparatus for deleting unnecessary re-transmission packets so as to decrease more a storage area of a re-transmission buffer.

SOLUTION: A packetizer 84 stores re-transmission packets corresponding to transmission packets having been transmitted to an opposite party to the re-transmission buffer 85. A transmission section 101 transmits the stored re-transmission packets to the opposite party with respect to a re-transmission request from the opposite party. A reception section 102 receives a final re-transmission request. Upon the receipt of the final re-transmission request, a NACK processing section 86 deletes the re-transmission packets whose sequence numbers are the sequence number included in the final re-transmission request or below from the re-transmission buffer 85. The transmission apparatus or the like is applicable to remote video conference systems.
