<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a blood pressure measuring device capable of measuring blood pressure from the artery by easily and highly accurately detecting a blood vessel position of the subcutaneous artery. <P>SOLUTION: This device has a body 34 installed on the skin 20 of an organism. The body 34 has two optical sensor devices 50 and 52 having respectively a light emitting element for irradiating the light having a predetermined wave length from above the skin 20 toward the artery in the organism, and two light receiving elements arranged at an equal distance from the light emitting element by sandwiching the light emitting element for receiving a pulse wave generated by reflecting or diffusing the light emitted from the light emitting element in an organismic tissue, and a pressure pulse wave sensor 46 arranged between the two optical sensor devices 50 and 52 and pressing the skin of organism so that pressure can be varied. A maximum blood pressure value can be determined on the basis of the fact that signal intensity detected by the light receiving elements equipped in the downstream side optical sensor device 52, exceeds a predetermined criterion value by continuously reducing pressing force of the pressure pulse wave sensor 46 from pressure higher than the maximum blood pressure value. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
