PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and effectively take a termite proofing measure in a throating structure. SOLUTION: In the throating structure at a rising part of an external wall 20 from a foundation structure 10 of a building, the external wall 20 is disposed at the upper part of the foundation structure 10, with a space from the foundation structure 10 on the outdoor side O of the building, and a throating member 30 is provided for connecting the foundation structure 10 to the external wall 20 on the outdoor side O. The throating member 30 has a throating piece 32 having water resistance on the surface and projected onto the outdoor side O from the outer surface of the external wall 20, and a termite-proof block 38 disposed on the back face side of the throating piece 32 to fill a space between the throating piece 32 and the foundation structure 10 and to abut on the surface of the foundation structure 10.
