A wall plate(1) supports compression plates(2) connected together by hinges(10). A lever(3) attached to one plate moves upwards to create an opening(11) varying from a rhombus to a rectangle between the plates into a PET(polyethyleneterephthalate) bottle(12) can be inserted. Downward lever movement compresses the open-topped bottles and closure caps are then replaced to retain the compressed bottle shape. Compressed bottles are then stored in a separate container(6) and bundled together with a strap(7) having holding clasps(8) and carrying loops(9). The press can be mounted at a suitable height on a wall using the wall plate(1). Central location of the handle(3) enable bottles(12) to be inserted from the right or left hand side. Four equal-sided compression plates are connected to each other by the hinges(10a,10b). One(2a) of the four plates is connected to the wall plate and an adjacent plate(2b) is connected to the handle. The variable opening can be adapted to suit several bottle sizes. Alternate arrangement of the hinge pins facing inwards and outwards ensures that during downward lever movement a flat chamber is created for compressed bottles. When mounted on a wall the latter acts against the downward lever movement for stability. Two holding cheeks of the compressed bottle holding container(6) are able to store a number of bottles. Independent claims are included for: a) a compressed bottle storage container(6) with two cheeks for storage of compressed bottles; b) a carrying strap(7) which is initially attached by clasps(8a,8b) to a central position between the storage container cheeks.
