A threshold plate (10) in rolling stock has a step section (11) in flat plate shape placed substantially horizontally, functioning as a foot-step. A light-holder section (12) located outside a step section (11) accommodates a light section (14). Lighting or flickering of the light section (14) allows a vehicle (1) side to warn in the presence of a gap or a difference in level between the edge of platform and the vehicle (1), and gives clear indication of the presence of doorway (4) to the physically handicapped persons, aged people, and others. Particularly, the light section (14) is effective when a platform does not give any clear indication of the position of doorway (4). Adoption of such type of threshold plate (10) is extremely effective as a facility for smooth getting on or off a vehicle, and ensures further safety for passengers and crew. <IMAGE> |
