PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drum brake device, having good assembling performance to a vehicle, facilitating gap adjustment after assembling, and preventing the occurrence of over-adjust. SOLUTION: An automatic gap adjustment device 10 automatically adjusts the position of a pair of brake shoes 3, 4 according to the abrasion. The device is disposed on one end side of a strut 27 securing the clearance between the brake shoes 3, 4, and provided with an adjuster gear 23 for adjusting the clearance between the brake shoes 3, 4 by rotation and an adjuster regulating lever 33 for regulating the rotation of the adjuster gear 23 when the operating force of a wheel cylinder 6 becomes more than designated.
