PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wall-decorating material which does not cause such the production of a noxious gas on combustion as that of vinylic polymer wall paper, has a soft, voluminous and hardly deformable uneven pattern, and has excellent emboss processability and applicability, and to provide a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: This wall-decorating material is characterized by comprising blended paper (1) comprising bamboo pulp fibers and synthetic fibers and wall backing paper (2) laminated to the back side of the blended paper, and forming an uneven pattern (3) on the front side of the blended paper by an embossing processing method. This wall-decorating material is produced by passing blended paper produced by, if necessary, forming a water-repelling treated layer and a synthetic resin-coated layer on the front side of blended paper and laminating wall paper-backing paper to the back side between a heated emboss roll and a back roll having a flat surface to emboss the blended paper.
