<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photographing apparatus in which an illumination using external light and an illumination using back light are not frequently changed over. <P>SOLUTION: A liquid crystal panel 13 is illuminated with the external light and radiation light from a white LED 48 which is a light source for back light. Brightness of the external light is measured by a CPU 37 based on luminosity data from a luminance sensor 53. Whether the measured brightness of the external light is equal to or more than a first threshold or less than a second threshold less than the first threshold is judged by the CPU 37. When the brightness of the external light is judged to be equal to or more than the first threshold, the white LED 48 lit so far is turned off and when the brightness of the external light is judged to be less than the second threshold, the white LED 48 turned off so far is lit. In addition, when the brightness of the external light is judged to be less than the first threshold and equal to or more than the second threshold, the already lit white LED 48 is continuously used. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
