<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a quantum encryption communication system capable of detecting the presence of eavesdropping and enhancing a communication rate. <P>SOLUTION: In the quantum encryption communication system including: an optical communication channel located between a sender side transmitter-receiver and a receiver side transmitter-receiver through which an optical pulse train resulting from coding a quantum state of photons according to information is transmitted from the sender side transmitter-receiver to the receiver side transmitter-receiver; and an open channel located between the sender side transmitter-receiver and the receiver side transmitter-receiver to mutually communicate items related to a quantum encryption communication procedure, the sender side transmitter-receiver includes a transmission means for transmitting the optical pulse train including: a single photon optical pulse train with a small average number of photons each optical pulse of which rarely includes plural photons; and a plurality of photon optical pulse train with a large average number of photons each optical pulse of which includes a plurality of photons even after reception. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
