<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form an image with high impact accuracy by reducing the quantity of UV-rays reaching the nozzle surface of a recording head from a light source disposed in the vicinity of the recording head of an ink jet recorder as much as possible thereby ejecting ink stably over a long term. <P>SOLUTION: In the ink jet recorder 1 where UV-curing ink is ejected from a recording head 4 to a recording medium P and UV-curing ink impacted on the recording medium P is irradiated with UV-rays from a UV-ray irradiating means 7 in order to fix the image, the UV-ray irradiating means 7 comprises a light source 6, and a reflector 9 for reflecting UV-rays irradiated from the light source 6 onto the recording medium P. Assuming the distance from the impact position H on the recording medium of UV-curing ink ejected from the recording head 4 to the condensing point R on the recording medium of UV-rays reflected on the reflector 9 is (a), and the distance from the center of the light source 6 to the cross point S of the recording medium P and a normal to the recording medium P is (b), a relation (a)>(b) is satisfied. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
