PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form an image with high impact accuracy by reducing ultraviolet dose arriving at the nozzle surface of a recording head from a light source disposed in the vicinity of the recording head in an ink jet recorder as much as possible thereby ejecting ink stably over a long term. SOLUTION: In the ink jet recorder 1 where UV-curing ink is ejected from a recording head 4 to a recording medium P and UV-curing ink impacting on the recording medium P is irradiated with UV-rays from a UV-ray irradiating means 7 in order to fix an image, the UV-ray irradiating means 7 comprises a light source 6, and a reflector 9 for reflecting UV-rays irradiated from the light source 6 onto the recording medium P. The recording head 4 side inner surface of the reflector 9 is provided with a side face reflector 10 inclining to recede from the recording head 4 as it approaches the recording medium P, and the space on the recording head 4 side of the side face reflector 10 serves as a light trap part 11.
