PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heddle shaft especially suitable for loom operated in high speed by improving a heddle shaft of conventional form. SOLUTION: The invention relates to the heddle shaft having a shaft rod 3 formed as a profile body 12 having a hollow chamber, wherein the profile body 12 has at least a closed chamber 14 provided with two substantially flat two sidewalls 18, 19 and two stems 16, 17 and either one of the stems 16, 17 is provided with a window 22 and a retaining piece 23 is provided on it, the retaining piece 23 is located inside of the hollow chamber 14, and is joined two-dimensionally to the sidewalls 18, 19 or set as to prolong from one stem 16 to the other side stem 17.
