PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating device capable of highly precisely controlling the thickness of a coating film in the width direction of a flexible substrate to a desired distribution. SOLUTION: The coating head is used in the coating device for applying a coating liquid to the surface of the continuously traveling belt-shaped flexible substrate. The coating head 10 is provided with: a liquid storage part 14 extending in the width direction of a support; a slit 16 which is communicated with the liquid storage part and is faced to the support in the width direction of the support and from the opening of which the coating liquid is discharged; and a supply port 18 arranged at one end or both ends of the coating head in the width direction of the support for supplying the coating liquid to the liquid storage part. The slit is formed so that the distance from a boundary part of the liquid storage part 14 to the opening of the slit in the vicinity of the central part of the support in the width direction is made smaller than the distances at both ends of the support in the width direction. As a result, the amount of the coating liquid to be discharged from the opening in the vicinity of the central part of the support in the width direction is made larger than the amounts at both ends of the support in the width direction.
