PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform endless recording of the limited number of recording media, in a device provided with a slot allowing a plurality of recording media to be loaded thereto and unloaded therefrom. SOLUTION: Images are divided to individual recording medium and are successively recorded as independent image files, and management information files representing information of image files are recorded in individual recording medium. When a recordable capacity runs out, the oldest image file is retrieved in accordance with the management information and is deleted.
