A latent heat storage unit constructed as per prior claim PCT/DE99/03861 has a discharge pipe (5) leading to the outside via a rotary pump. The melting process is triggered by operation of the bypass between the feed pipe (4) and discharge system (5) using the same oil. The latent heat is stored by a combination of oil and salt or metal hydrate.
