<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce error of the magnetic pole position of a motor efficiently when it is estimated. <P>SOLUTION: As a first step, a first estimating means 1A obtains a first estimated value θ^<SB>ef1</SB>of magnetic pole position. In this regard, an original estimating section 2 obtains the original estimated value θ^<SB>e1</SB>of magnetic pole position and a filter 3 filters the original estimated value θ^<SB>e1</SB>. As a second step, a sample/hold element 4a at a sample/hold section 4 obtains a second estimated value θ^<SB>e2</SB>of magnetic pole position. As a third step, a sample/hold element 4b obtains a first estimated value θ^<SB>ef1</SB>for current 0, and an adder/subtractor 12 obtains an estimated value Δθ^<SB>e</SB>of error. As a fourth step, q-axis inductance estimated value L^<SB>q</SB>of the motor is updated. The first estimated value θ^<SB>ef1</SB>can be brought close to a true value by repeating the first through fourth steps using an updated q-axis inductance estimated value L^<SB>q</SB>. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
