摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface light source element having high luminance, and obtaining unified luminance distribution in a light emitting surface without applying unification treatment to a speckled pattern or the like. <P>SOLUTION: The surface light source element for a liquid crystal display apparatus includes a light source, and an optical guide body having at least one light incoming surface facing the light source and a light emitting surface roughly perpendicular to the light incoming surface. At least one surface between the light emitting surface of the optical guide body and its back surface is composed of a rough surface having concaves and convexes with an average tilting angle (&theta;a) of 0.5-7.5&deg;, and thereby luminance dispersion (R %) in the light emitting surface of the optical guide body is not more than 20 %. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
