PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To notify a user of a change in a body weight, to indicate a weight to be reduced as a concrete numeric value, and to provide information such as an ingestion calorie per a day for bringing a standard body weight or a target body weight and a menu. SOLUTION: This information providing system is provided with a weighing scale, an input means incorporated in the weighing scale to input a height data, a transmission means for transmitting a body weight value measured by the weighing scale and a height value input by the input means to a computer, and an output means for receiving a processed result from the computer to be output, and has a personal specifying area for specifying individual persons, a storage area for storing the personal body weight value and height value, a computing area for finding a standard body weight value using the height value stored in the storage area to compute a difference between the body weight stored in the storage area and the standard body weight value, and a transmission data area for storing a result processed in the computing area to be transmitted to the output means, in the computer.
