PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lubricating method, which prevents front end parts of a pierce punch and a burring punch from being seized even when a hydrocarbon-based lubricating oil is replaced with water or a water-based lubricating oil as a lubricating oil for press working. SOLUTION: When a male die 1 and a female die 2 are mutually fitted to cut a material, an outer peripheral surface 13a of the male die 1 and an inner peripheral surface 24a of the female die 2 are overlapped. By forming the whole or a part of a lubricating liquid reservoir 10, in which a lubricating liquid is reserved, on the surface 13a or the surface 24a, the lubricating oil is certainly supplied to a cutting part.
