ELECTROPHOTOGRAPHIC TONER AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS USING THE TONER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus with a cleaning blade in which neither banding nor faulty cleaning of a photoreceptor and an intermediate transfer belt occurs and filming on the photoreceptor and on the intermediate transfer belt is prevented. SOLUTION: An electrophotographic toner is disclosed which has an average circularity of≥0.94 and contains particles comprising a free long chain fatty acid or its salt in an amount of 0.2-1.2% by number. A binder resin and a colorant are contained in the toner and the toner is obtained by a method including a step of locating an additive containing particles comprising at least a long chain fatty acid or its salt on toner base particles having an average circularity of≥0.94. Most preferably, the toner is obtained by locating an external additive containing particles comprising at least a long chain fatty acid or its salt in the final step. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
