<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which can solve problems caused in the conventional layout by improving the layout of principal component elements constituting the apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: A paper ejection part D, a printing part B, an optical part C and a paper supply part A are arranged in this order from above as the layout of the principal component elements of the image forming apparatus. Thus, the distance from the paper supply part A to the printing part B is secured, and the radius of curvature of a recording paper ejection path from the paper supply part A to a transport path E is made large. Since the optical part C does not exist on the upper side of a fixing device F arranged in the vicinity of the printing part B, the thermal damage of the optical part C due to the heat radiated from the fixing device F is avoided. Furthermore, the transfer of the image to the recording medium can be started immediately after a full color synthetic image is completed on an intermediate transfer belt 7, so that high-speed printing is realized. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
