PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new cancer and rheumatism inspection/diagnosis method, a diagnostic agent, and the like. SOLUTION: An inspection/diagnosis is made regarding cancer and rheumatism, by detecting CD166 in synotvial, such as blood and joint fluid. The CD166 is detected in the blood of a cancer patient, and since the amount of detection is fully correlated with the presence or the absence, the size, and the disappearance and growth of tumor for use as an appropriate bodily fluid marker in the inspection/diagnosis of cancer. Additionally, since the CD166 has been specifically detected in the joint fluid of a chronic joint rheumatism model animal for use as an inspection/diagnosis regarding rheumatism, such as the presence and the absence of the onset of rheumatism, the degree of its progress, and conditions of recuperation, or the like as the humoral marker.
