<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cable cutter for a large type electric cable, which cable cutter can be mounted/dismounted to/from a hand-held electric drill of any portable standard type. <P>SOLUTION: The cable cutter to be mounted to the electric drill has a housing, a first cutting edge and a second cutting edge which are connected to the housing so as to relatively move, and a driving assembly which can be mounted/dismounted to/from a dill chuck and can engage with the cutting edges so as to operate. The driving assembly has a worm arranged on a driving shaft, a worm wheel and a driving gear arranged on a main spindle, and a segment gear formed on one of the cutting edges. The worm and the worm wheel are engaged with each other like the driving gear and the segment gear. The main spindle is supported by three bearings in the housing. A torque arm is connected to the housing at one end thereof and is engaged with a handle of the electric drill at the other end thereof.
