PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely install software essential for system management in each computer and to eliminate software unfit to a system, in a program for managing a computer system comprising a plurality of computers, a computer system management device, a computer and a management method of the computer system. SOLUTION: This computer for managing the computer system is so structured as to function as a means equipped with an essential application database with information of applications essential for the respective computers stored, and used for storing, when receiving respective installed application information reported from the respective computers, it as installed application information on a computer basis, and a means for checking the application information stored in an installed application storage means against information stored in an essential application storage means to detect that the essential application is not installed yet.
